Shreyansh Goyal shares his journey from computer science to his aspirations in financial analytics, with experiences at the iSchool in client projects, data science research, and guiding new students as a Graduate Ambassador.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hello! My name is Shreyansh Goyal, and I am currently pursuing my Master\u2019s in Information Systems<\/strong> at the School of Information Studies (iSchool)<\/a> at Syracuse University. I completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Science, and I wanted my next step to bridge the worlds of technology and management. The iSchool was the perfect choice, offering a unique blend of both fields with the flexibility to shape my career toward business, technology, and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transition to life at Syracuse has been incredibly smooth and welcoming. Right from the start, I was able to join icebreaker events organized by Syracuse student groups, such as the International Student Organization (ISO). These events helped me feel at home, meet other students, and start building a network early on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I joined iConsult Collaborative, a student consultancy group, where I worked on a client-based project to develop a website using the Wix platform. This hands-on experience was invaluable\u2014it gave me my first taste of applying technical skills in a real-world setting and collaborating with a team to deliver on client needs. Soon after, I was also selected to work at Nexis Student Technology Labs, which has been a fantastic journey so far. As a Data Science Researcher<\/strong> in the Team Data Science, I am currently working on two projects focused on data-driven insights, which has provided me with deep experience in data analysis and its impact on decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond academics and work, I was also selected as a Graduate Admissions Ambassador, a role that will allow me to guide new students through their transition to Syracuse. Being able to help others navigate their first steps at the iSchool will be rewarding, and it should strengthen my own connection to the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, I am focusing on courses and experiences that will prepare me for a career in financial analytics. My long-term goal is to take these skills back to India, where I hope to start my own business and also contribute to my family\u2019s business. I am excited to see how I can apply what I\u2019m learning at Syracuse to real-world challenges back home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The iSchool has been everything I hoped for and more, providing both the technical rigour and the professional opportunities to grow. I look forward to continuing this journey, learning as much as I can, and hopefully inspiring others along the way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
